The Oppo patent depicts a smartphone with a physical QWERTY keyboard.

(IANS) Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has applied for a new patent for a smartphone with a physical QWERTY keyboard. According to GizmoChina, the design appears to be of a QWERTY keyboard case akin to LG Dual-Screen rather than a permanently connected hinge — the last such accessory available for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The patent design suggests that the keys are capacitive rather than tactile, and the arrangement appears to be congested rather than wider. According to the article, the smartphone utilised as a reference also features bezels all around and a dew-drop notch. The company has filed a new trademark application with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for a forthcoming Reno series smartphone, which could be dubbed the Reno Glow. The Reno Glow could be tied to a new camera system with improved voice controls, although this is only speculation at this time.
